Welcome to Ostrava - Krasne Pole.

Krasne Pole was founded probably in 13th century. Its name (Krasne Pole means "Beautiful Field" in English) came from the location on the hill with a wonderful view on the Beskydy mountains. In April 1976, Krasne Pole became a part of Ostrava city. The area of the municipality is 659 hectars.

During last years there has been massive development of Krasne Pole. In the 90's, this part of Ostrava became popular residential area. The reason is that it is not affected with the industrial pollution from Ostrava downtown but the city centre is still reachable within 20 to 25 minutes. The municipality is growing - a lot of new houses and even new streets has been built. The number of inhabitants reached 2400 last year.
